geisha

G e i s h a

I bought these incredible shoes in Chinatown about a week ago. They remind me of all of the shoes in my favourite Japanese magazine, 'PopTeen' which I blogged about ages ago here. So glad they are finally mine! I wore them out last night and felt like a geisha, but I didn't fall over so I'm rather proud. I think they will look super cute with socks too like this!

B&W moon

This is my favourite "bad tourist" T-shirt. It's actually very cool though, quite hippy-like I would say...I'm kinda feeling that vibe for summer for me. Lots of braids, feathers, flowers, bracelets, brown leather and long, wavy hair. Basically what I was into last summer, strange how that happens! I do apologize for my lack of quality blogging of late, I've just kind of been finding some pretty inspiration and posting it without much detail or explanation of why I find said pictures so fantastic. Probably because I am about to enter end of year exams...once again, sorry!
I will endeavor to provide you guys with quality blogging, lots of summer inspiration and outfit posts!
au revoir.

violet violets !

This is the skirt I made the other day...in fourty minutes, an uber record of mine! I went to
a fabric store a few weeks ago and fell in love with this fabric. So perfect , the beautiful colours, the flowers and just the spacing of the flowers, too.
I wore it the other day when I saw my best friend Rachel, and I want to wear it again soon!

N e w ! ( well, almost)

This is my black/white striped top that I bought not too long ago, but never posted about. I think it's lovely, I have such a stripe fetish. Fetish may be the wrong word as it always suggests some sort of abnormality, so lets say I am a stripe fanatic. Not that much better, but it's true. In the stripe department, a red/white striped top is what i'm wanting at the moment. I have a plethora of black/white striped items... I have T-shirts, bodysuits, jumpers and now sweaters, I also have my favourite piece of clothing, my blue and white striped sweater, but red would be a nice
change.
I think this particular top would look really sweet with soon-to-be-mine CM acid wash jeans, which I will get in 5 days when my birthday rolls around.
What shoes would I wear for that outfit though? The tan oxford heels would be perfect, but they're in dream land, maybe a red shoe could work? I dunno.
I have been off school today and half of yesterday due to illness, so I'd expect at least one more bored post in the coming days. I do have a lovely party tomorrow night which I shall be attending, sick or not, and there will be photos.
au revoir.

Z i p . Z I P !

I ventured to Cheap Monday in search for my acid wash jeans but, of course my luck- they didn't have my size. Apparently they were sooo popular that the smallest they had was a size twenty-five, one size smaller than me! I died a little inside, really. I went with one of my best friends, Samm( who will appear on blog later, when I find my camera cord- we took outfit photos around my new neighborhood) and she fit them perfectly! How unfair the world is. But it would also be unfair if she didn't get them cause she looked amazing.

So there am I, about the leave the store empty handed and with a whole missing in my heart when I glanced to the tops rack. I found love in Swedish sweater form. Since Cheap Monday is a Swedish store, it stocks heaps of Swedish brands ( like MTFSS Weekdays!) and I was over the moon to find this! This exact sweater was on one of my favourite Swedish fashion blogs that I have as my homepage- not going to lie. The girl got it for x-mas last year and, after searching the brand on the internet, I decided to give up and not get it as it was probably too expensive anyway, and I had already sent my cousins in Sweden a shopping mission, and they may be not happy. It must be fate.

I'm in love with it. It will do me well in winter, and my birthday is coming up ( in exactly one month from today!) so hopefully I can seek out some more acid wash jeans elsewhere, and ask for them. Hi- Ho silver lining!

how come all the other unicorns are dead?

Well not too much to update today, I did take a quick stroll up to Newtown today, visited a few shops- oh! I did find some galaxy print leggings (they were black with white star clumps)! In Dangerfield they were, but I tried on the smallest size there and they were still at least 10cm too long for my miniature legs. Cry. So i didn't get them...instead I got this amazing top. When a top involves lots of ruffles and plaid, how can it go wrong? I also got the best fitting skirt of my life which is kind of similar to the top, rayon with navy blue and white fine checks. Its completely epic.

I also decided to rock the peaches braid today- no flowers though. :)
I'm off to have some thai for dinner!
au revoir.

purchases.

Today was the most amazing day. I went to school today in hopes of being elected a prefect and I got the exact position I have dreamt of since year seven. Pure magic.
I also went shopping last weekend and I thought I'd display a few of my purchases which I'm in love with: well first there's...
The bag: I love love love it. Its from this Japanese gyaru fashion shop in the city which I went into with hopes of finding a red one, but pink'll do. I can save the read one for the real Chanel 2.55 deal.
The jacket: Ive always wanted either a denim or leather cropped jacket for winter, and after stealing my friend Sams' at that party on the previous blog, I was so inspired to get one too! I can't wait to wear it.
The sweater: Perfect necessity the winter months. So casual, so comfy, but without being daggy. I actually wanted a very similar cashmere one in a different shop, but it wasnt there...and this was at least $150 cheaper so...

Still on my mind: acid wash jeans with beautiful big tears in the knees. Ramones style.
au revoir.

Debbie Harry style...but I'm wearing underwear.

I bought this top today- the writing is actually the opposite way in person, but meh. I like it...kinda reminds me of Erin Wasson's 'cowboy' one, even though I'm not such a big fan of her. The t-shirt is Casette society, a nice brand, even though the face of it is Zippora Seven, who I still remain indifferent to, im not sure if I dislike her particularly or like her..oh well im off to walk my dog, MAX.
Later on though i'm going to a party! Hopefully photos will be taken. I'll be wearing this t-shirt. Have a lovely day.

I've been lacking...

pictured: shiny new jacket and the lovely trendy little wanker Hugh of the epically awesome music blog http://tableninemutants.blogspot.com/ ( this blog is actually amazing-check it out)

I think Vince Noir is the only one who can explain my current mood ( and reason for non-bloggage of late) : FASHION BLOCK.
I'm frustrated as all I can think of these days in Cory Kennedy, Effy from skins, tights as pants... and shock horror.. pants instead of skirts! I feel bad. I'm just not really a big fan of change- Ive been so opposed to pants and shorts, t-shirts, and over sized things for so long- not that they are not lovely, I always wore them, but I added my own little bit to them , like a bow tie, or a flower comb in my hair, a big, bow headband, or shiny stockings or knee-highs, something to tie in my extremely feminine, ethereal look with a more tomboyish, and common item of clothing...
On the plus side, last week I got those lovely Jonathan Aston socks ( in black- not as satisfying...but only colour available) and... A SHINY JACKET ( for only $30 from a vintage market). I wore it to a lovely party on Saturday night. ( hence the pictures- I am also wearing the ballerina dress from a few blogs back)
Here's whats on my mind:

sure changes of style are inevitable... but I rather liked my style- I just need some lovely whimsical, dainty and lilac goodness. On the contrary, next blog: scruffy British style- kitsch ( yet somehow chic) trashy-goodness.

sad song ? Stay golden!

Stripes! oh, shock horror! On this blog? NO WAY.

Well this is just a little blog telling you all about how happy I am that my dear stripey sweater arrived today and I am so happy with it! It fits like a dream ( wow, I never thought I would ever use " fits like a dream" in my life, but there you go). I had a fine day at school today and at the moment I am listening to Au revoir simone and it is making me happy, as this one particular song reminds me so much of when I went to America last year. I was listening to them ( along with the pipettes, the byrds and Lykke Li) constantly, Au revior specicifically when we wre driving around San Fransicso at 4am, my father getting lost every three seconds, thinking the GPS lady was out to get him, and trying to figure out how to convert miles into a form of measurement he actually uses. haha. good times. I really did love san fran the most. I would love to live there when im older, maybe just for a while.
I am eagerly awaiting the eighth issue of LULA magazine! a.k.a my future place of employment (haha, cocky much?) but yes, SO excited. Really, from what ive heard its major themes include: Hannah Murray, Chanel Iman, Luella, lots of lilac, flowers and edwardian type clothes, boater hats , shiny stockings and bows. Really, there is nothing I love more than Lula, pretty much as I have never had such a connection to somthing, as it really does understand me ( as lame as that sounds). My entire fashion palette is displayed there- everything I love- and how amazing that feeling is!
au revoir.

SHINY, SHINY STOCKINGS!

SUNDAY! yes...SUNSHINE? no... SHINY S T O C K I N G S ? ..yess!!

Sunday was such a lovely day. To escape the rain a few friends of mine and I decided to visit my favourite place in all of Sydney- the aquarium. As one of my friends so kindly poined out " I think you have an aquarium obsession" after talking about how amazing it is for an uncomforatbly scopious amount of time. So I wont go on about it here- but there will be pictures. I got many happy snaps of the seahorses!
But all this aquarium buisness aside, after leaving, we just hung around the city where... I bought these! I'm not too sure how well they appear in the pictures, but they are a fine fish net type stocking with little silver shiny pieces in them! They look so lovely in the sunshine... or in the moonlight. I love them, I really do. They kind of (once again stealing from this girls wardrobe- I think shes been mentioned in my past three blogs) remind me of Cassies on Skins... but hers are knee highs and hers are more colourful. I can see these being beautiflly matched with a romantic, white, vintage nightgown dress with lots of loose pleating and some delicate embellisments. I have to search for such a dress, however!
At the moment I am way excited as I just found out that the eight issue of Lula magazine is out this week in the U.S. ..so it should be making its way here in the next week or so so I am absolutley estatic!and check out the front cover!

Can anyone say : Lilac and Luella = LOR, ( me) which according to this cover also equals:

LULA.

Lilac! + stripes.

(sorry Ive been a but neglectful this week, I just started year eleven, which means more school for me! but today...)

I got the most amazing H A T !( and a striped T-shirt).

I went to the previously mentioned ( in one of my most early blogs) Surry Hills markets and I had a great old time, I didn't really buy all that much, it wasn't great this time, but I bought an absolutely adorable mint green sailor -type top ( not anywhere near amazing as the one Cassie has on skins, in the last episode of season one- seen below)

( disclaimer: I SHALL OWN A TOP LIKE THIS ONE DAY!)

a pastel coral skirt, and one thing not from the markets, but purchased today ( and it was far too expensive, so my bank account is suffering!) is the amazing velvet skirt- also featured on a past blog-.
I got all these in conjunction with the stripey top and the hat (both seen in picture). I'm pretty sure its one of those finds where you get comments like " I think I had a hat like that once... when I was five!"
but I absolutely love it! I'm off to a party now, so sorry about the rushed and rugged blog entry this is .

au revoir, simone.

The fish had a secret wish.

New. New... N E W !

Yesterday I went to the shops and the movies. I saw bride wars and it amused me ( we had free tickets that had to be used by the end of January!). I also had two voulchers that needed to be spent. So I bought a pair of lace stockings and a new T-shirt. I love them both.

shirt: general pants.co, stockings:sportsgirl.

Ive been thinking about the season we are about to approach now here in Australia- Autumn. Seriously my most favourite season for fashion as you can wear light dresses with knee -highs or stocking and feel compeletly fine, but I am very extied about Autumn. Its the perfect time to wear my favourite colou pallette(besides pastels). This palette consists of Navy, Violet, Mustard,Emerald green and Maroon- and its the perfect time to crack open the velvet and the plaid patterns! Im not too sure what that colour pallette is called, i never have, does it actually have a special name?

well, Au revoir.

Petticoat junction.

Dress/petticoat: Surry Hills Markets.
Shell pendant: Surry Hills Markets.
Shoes: Minty meets Munt.
I love Surry Hills. It is my favourite suburb in Sydney, I would love to live there when im older. I love it for many reasons, including the people an artistic the vibe that surronds the suburb, as well as the most amazing shops that inhabit Crown street. But my favourite excuse for me to be in Surry hills is the once - a - month market that I call my favourite place to shop. It has the most amazing vintage stalls and most of them are reasonably priced.
This time when I went I got lucky and found this amazing 1950s petticoat that I wear as a dress. It was at this stall ( that I faithfully visit whenever its there- and always find great stuff) where the man was doing a ' fill a bag for $10' deal.
I luckily found this petticoat ( that, by the way, had a tag that said $50 on it), an amazing sixties top, a more modern dress (that sadly is too big) , and a 1970s sailor dress which was for my friend ( she found it first- unlucky) but she promised to share.
I also got photographed by a magazine to put me in thier street style section, but more on that later.

Au revoir.
