Madame Hawke

M a d a m e H a w k e 's new
Spring/Summer collection ' D a y '
is really lovely.
I saw some looks of this collection on Liebemarlene's blog, and truthfully the grey sock/sandal combination was what initially drew me in. After going on the website, I saw some amazing clothes! I love the muted colour pallet of the mustard, white and the powder blues....I also love the collars! The outfit to the left is just such a perfect summer outfit, white dress, wooden shoes. Lovely.

60's inspirations part iii/

M a r r i a n n e F a i t h f u l l ! ♥

Mick Jagger's lady.
She Can also be my lady if she so wishes...just look how beautiful she was! My favourite picture is the one to the left, the velvet bow! the wondrous 60's hair! the lace top!
There is a reason she was a major fashion icon of the 60's.

Her style is sort a combination of 60's mod and the 60's british, sort of military style, which I love. Doing these posts I have come to realize how much of what choose to wear these days is because of the inspiration intrinsically instilled in my mind since all those years ago (two...maybe three) when I idolized these women. Even now I cannot doubt how amazing they are. The 60's if by far my favourite decade, followed closely by the 70's...why wasn't I alive then??? RUDE.

60's inspirations part ii/

(the beginning of this post is below)

F r a n c o i s e H a r d y !

Is another of my 60's muses. She is pretty much loved by everyone...I mean, how cool do you have to be to be a singer, actress AND an astrologer!? pretty damn cool I say. THIS is my favourite song of hers, it's pretty upbeat and cute... while still being very french.
She is undeniabley one of the most beautiful women to ever be in the public eye...her style is just gorgeous, too!au revoir!

A lovely conversation with Bri today (about Marrianne Faithfull as a winter fashion icon) I decided to go home and do some well due research into three of my favourite 60's fashion icons---Anna Karina, Francoise Hardy and Marianne Faithfull.
I've decided that it would just be one giant mess of a post if I decided to post about them all together, so I have decided to split them up into a post each---which should help everyone appreciate each girls' individual style more.

Back in 2008, when I really started to fall in love with Vintage, I stumbled across these three lovely ladies, and well, fell in love. Utterly in love. I must say Anna Karina is my favourite of the trio, her dark hair and light eyes, as well as the unrefined elegance she emits makes me understand why she was Godart's muse in the 60's. What a beautiful lady!

UO

U r b a n O r i g i n a l s new look book is so lovely! ♥

I think UO has a little bit of a lame reputation in the US, but when I was in America two years ago I loved the store! They just have really nice shoes and dresses and jewelery.
I bought this amazing sparkly vest, which, although expensive, is great.
I think that this look book is so naturalistic and lovely. The colours in the last picture is just beautiful. I love the magnolia's with the chambray. The shoes in the last picture are beautiful too, no?

c a l f !

A RANDOM LITTLE POST TODAY,
Yesterday I went by Rozelle markets and I picked up this adorable little calf figure for my new room. It was $2, so great!
I have been collecting thing for my room ever since January, when renovations began. Presently, I have : three 70's paintings (a scene of swan lake, a lake and forest scene that looks like it came right out of the film Twilight, and an 18th century ship on a deep blue sea); a crochet flower painting; a whale figurine; a beautiful white and baby blue lace bedspread; various bottles for housing crayons, pencils etc; and fairy lights.
I Can't wait to start decorating, and to show everyone! Right now, my room is floor-less in parts, wall-less in parts and dirty as all hell.
Still unlivable! :(

knits!

K n i t s !

As the days get colder, more and more do I really want a loose fitting, loosely knitted sweater...
or some cable knit.
I think that I would love to perhaps get one in an orange-y/ brown-ey/beige colour...or perhaps a simple black.

A random post!

R a n d o m I n s p i r a t i o n
Hello everyone. Just a little post to show you what the non HSC polluted sector of my brain is being inspired by right now.
I spent the last weekend with the Secret Squirrel gang at Sydney's Finders Keepers markets in Sydney. The markets were so pretty! All the stalls had some association with Frankie magazine, so of course they were lovely in a crafty,quirky,pastel-ey way! Simmilar to what I'm being inspired by now...hmmm... I'm hoping to apply such inspiration to the styling of my new room--hopefully I will have a fully functioning room within the month (fingers crossed!)

my babies!

F u n k i s S a n d a l C l o g s !

On the weekend, I finally bought what has been haunting my mind ever since the start of summer last year! I don't really know what to call them...wooden sandals? I just love them. They are just perfect! They are from this Swedish homewears/fashion shop called Funkis. Luckily they have a few stockists in Sydney so I was able to get them! When I got home from buying them, I showed my dad to which he said (in his famous Swedish accent) "You know Loran, your grandmother in Sweden has those exact same ones. Are they Funkis? She wears them all the time- they are such old lady shoes"
Then call me an old lady, I say! I look so forward to wearing them with lots of chambray and white and tights and socks!
H0pefully the purchase of my new favourite shoes will subside all the sandal/clog talk on the blog for a while!

In other news::: I have gotten a few lovelies in the past couple of days- an amazing fashion week!! I got my favourite chambray Secret Squirrel dress, and a that leopard print cardigan from Cotton On that one of my readers so nicely suggested to me!

Pictures later!

au revoir ♥
